In June 2007, students from Allahabad University, the Delhi School of Economics, and Jawaharlal Nehru University conducted a two-week survey of the NREGA in Surguja district, Chattisgarh. The survey covered 19 worksites spread over 15 villages in Batauli Block, and concluded with a lively public hearing on June 13.
