The Rozgar Evum Suchna ka Adhikar Abhiyan (Campaign for the Right to Work and the Right to Information) is organizing a 'Jan Adhikar Yatra' from August 9-26. The padyatra will start from four locations: Ajmer, Alwar, Tonk, and Sikar, and conclude in Jaipur on August 20. The padyatris will raise awareness and mobilize people on issues relating to land, Employment Guarantee, the Right to Information, and Social Security legislation for the unorganized sector. These padyatras are intended to kick off a mass campaign that will continue to intensify through the year, as a means of demanding democratic accountability from political parties in the run-up to the next state elections.

The padyatras will begin with a Jan Manch at each of the four starting locations. Once the different groups have reached Jaipur on the 20th, there will be a daily event of mass action from the 21st to the 25th on each of the issues mentioned above. The final event of this phase of the campaign will be a State level Jan Manch on the 26th in Jaipur where political parties will be asked to state their position, and plan of action on these issues.

More information on these events is available from the documents below. The Abhiyan can be contacted at:
