Update 29

Dear friends,

Here are a few reminders and some recent developments:

• The Standing Committee was to have started hearing of testimonies today (5 and 6 May). However, the programme has been cancelled at the last minute due to the NDA boycott of Parliament.
• The final preparatory meeting for ?Rozgar Adhikar Yatra? will be held tomorrow, i.e. 6 May, 2005 at the NFIW Office, from 10am to 1pm.
• For latest info on yatra, including itinerary, see the new section on "rozgar adhikar yatra" that has just been added at www.righttofoodindia.org
• Finally, some good news - a bus has finally been found for the Yatra ? a 47-seater at reasonable rate, with special permission to paint it.

Volunteers have been collecting chanda since 1 May (Labour Day) and the the chanda in Delhi is doing reasonably well. But the Yatra is still very short of funds. It is hoped that local organisations will contribute to diesel costs (and/or entry taxes) to the extent possible, otherwise the bus may come to a halt somewhere along the line!
