Blurb for 20th event

Dear friends,

As you know efforts are on to collect banners demanding ‘Employment Guarantee Act now’ all over the country. The signature campaign will culminate on 10th of December (Human Rights day), and after that all the banners will be brought to Delhi for a creative display of people’s voices.

As a part of this campaign, a signature event is being organized in Delhi tomorrow (see announcement below). All are cordially invited.

At the convention on the Employment Guarantee Act held in Delhi on the 19th October 2004 it was decided to initiate a country-wide signature campaign to press for the enactment of a Rural National Employment Guarantee Act.

Several eminent persons from different walks of life are initiating the signature campaign on the 20th November 2004 in Delhi with an event at the V.P. House back lawns between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm.

Among those present will be:

Shri. V.P. Singh, Sitaram Yechury, Prabash Joshi, Ajit Bhattacharjea, Medha Patkar, Jayati Ghosh, Aruna Roy.

We invite you to be present on the occasion and join in endorsing this demand for the enactment of a Rural National Employment Guarantee Act.
