| Below you will find four versions of the draft National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, with related comments, translations, critiques, comparisons, etc. The four versions are: (1) initial draft prepared by concerned citizens (“initial draft”); (2) draft prepared by the National Advisory Council in August 2004 (“NAC draft”); (3) the National Rural Employment Guarantee Bill, as it was tabled in Parliament on December 21, 2004; (4) the National Rural Employment Guarantee Bill (NREGB 2005), as it was passed in Parliament on August 23, 2005.

DRAFT PREPARED BY THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL This draft was sent to the Prime Minister's Office in August 2004 with the recommendation of the National Advisory Council (NAC). Unlike the preceding draft, it includes an initial limit of "100 days per household" on guaranteed employment, in line with the Common Minimum Programme.
