Field Surveys
Field surveys provide a systematic picture of the state of food security in different parts of India, and can be used to monitor the implementation of the Supreme Court orders. Here are some surveys relating to the provision of mid-day meals:
- A field survey to assess and monitor mid-day meal schemes in Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Chattisgarh, conducted by the The Centre for Equity Studies (Delhi) in early 2003.
- In Chhattisgarh, the Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti (BGVS) is trying to ensure regular monitoring of mid-day meals in a large number of schools. For this purpose, BGVS is using this simple questionnaire (also available in doc format)
